Limerick middleweight Andy Lee [34(24)-3(2)-1] is eager to return to the ring at the highest level following some time off after his WBO World title majority decision loss to Billy Joe Saunders late last year.

Lee is targeting a showdown with Danny Jacobs or WBA/WBC/IBF champion Gennady Golovkin for his return fight. Both potential opponents had stoppage victories this weekend over Sergio Mora and Kell Brook respectively.

Gamblers are eager to bet on such match.

Those who aren’t into betting on box or sports matches can spin the online slots for a great gambling experience.

Jacobs and Golovkin have both had problems getting other top fighters to agree to fight them – a source of frustration for their management teams in negotiating fights and liaising with promoters and broadcast companies, but more so for the fans as they want to see the best fighting the best.

One man who has agreed when approached in the past to fight either of them is Castleconnell southpaw Lee.

Lee was set to meet Golovkin at Madison Square Garden in New York on HBO in April 2014 but the fight was unfortunately cancelled due to the death of Gennady’s father Gennady Ivanovich Golovkin.

Team Lee were also approached earlier this year about a possible fight with Danny Jacobs in May which did not come to fruition.

A genuine fully-fledged 160lb fighter with significant height, reach, a tricky southpaw stance, and notable punching power, Lee is dangerous opponent for anyone. While the 32 year old would be an underdog in both fights, his massive right hook would ensure that they would be crowd-friendly shoot-outs.

Lee explained that “I have had a bit of a lay off since my last fight, but I want to get back to boxing, what better way to get back than in a championship fight.”

“I have no qualms about challenging Danny or Gennady or any other top fighter, I am in the business of fighting that is what I do for a living.”

“As a professional athlete I want to test myself and fight and beat the best, that has been my motivation during my career.”
