Aaron McKenna secures immediate new fight date following paperwork farce

Aaron McKenna [1(0)-0] has quickly been provided with a new fight date following another cruel cancellation on Friday just gone.

As had happened for his debut, McKenna saw his second pro fight scrapped just hours beforehand due to issues with his opponent.

The 18-year-old Monaghan welterweight had been due to box live on ESPN at The Hangar in L.A. as part of the Golden Boy Promotions undercard for the super bantamweight clash between Azat Hovhannisyan and Ronny Rios.

However, proposed opponent Adolfo Caro was pulled from the bill by the California State Athletic Commission due to falsified documents, leaving ‘The Silencer’ with a quiet night.

Like his debut, which was delayed by just one week, McKenna has secured a replacement fight date within days and will now box on Thursday March 22nd at Fantasy Springs Resort and Casino in Indio, California.

Again featuring on a Golden Boy on ESPN card, McKenna will support the super featherweight match-up of Ryan Garcia and Fernando Vargas.

An opponent for the former underage amateur stand-out will be confirmed shortly.
