There was big news last week for unbeaten Belfast super featherweight Anto Cacace [12(5)-0] when Cyclone Promotions announced that he would be taking on Ronnie Clark [13(7)-2(0)-2] for the BBBoC Celtic Title on October 16th in Edinburgh.

Cyclone CEO, and International Boxing Hall of Fame member, Barry McGuigan believes that ‘The Apache’ has a very bright future and the boxing public will see this at the Meadowbank Sports Arena.

Speaking to the Belfast Telegraph, the Monaghan man explained that “this is a great chance for Anto to really show everyone that he is a force to be reckoned with in the British super-featherweight division.”

“He’s a very big talent and this fight is a real launching pad for Anto.”

“It’s going to be a big night for Anto and we are confident that he can deliver.”

McGuigan also lavished praise on the 26 year old, noting that “without doubt he’s the hardest puncher we’ve ever had in our gym and whoever he connects with in the super-featherweight division will be in trouble.”

‘The Clones Cyclone’ is confident that now is the correct time to give the Belfast man the step-up in class he has craved, reasoning that “my son Shane has been working hard with Anto over the past year and he’s developed a lot and we feel the time is right for him to step up and have some really exciting fights.”

Indeed, McGuigan feels that the Celtic Title is only the start for the mercurially talented boxer and that “if all goes to plan in Edinburgh on October 16th, I would be confident that Anto can be fighting for British and Commonwealth titles within the next 12 months.”
