McCloskey:Khan can slip to Judah defeat

June 21 Jonny Stapleton

PAUL McCloskey believes Zab Judah could prove a banana skin Amir Khan could slip up on during his light welterweight unification title fight in Vegas this weekend.

Dudey, who announced he will fight Preidis Prescott in Belfast this September earlier this week, believes he might not be facing the only man to defeat Khan if the WBA champion over looks in anyway the challenge of the IBF strap holder.

The Derry native suffered a controversial reverse against the Wild Card resident back in March, but believes he could have won the bout but for a the premature stoppage.

And the fighter with first glove Khan experience stressed the Bolton native is still susceptible to power punches and isn’t worth the billing he receives in some quarters.

“ It is going to be an interesting fight this weekend. I think If Khan takes Judah lightly we he has a tendency to do he might be surprised. Judah is much improved and is a potential Banana skin,” McCloskey explained.

“I don’t think Khan is the fighter he thinks he his. Freddie Roach has improved him and particularly improved his defence but he still can be caught, beaten and knocked out.”

Other than the fact there is a lot more bad blood between the pair than there was real blood dripping from the forehead of McCloskey on that ill fated night in April, the former light welterweight champion of Europe has more reason than most to shout for Judah this Saturday.

If the Dungiven star successfully navigates the challenge of the Columbian, who had Khan gone in under 60 seconds, and Twitter junkie Judah twats Khan Eddie Hearn reckons McCloskey Judah can be made with ease.

“Judah McCloskey is a lot easier to make than a fight with Khan. We have a very good relationship with Team Judah. My father has is very good friends with them for years. We have been in touch recently and as you would expect we have shared a few stories re dealing with the Khans. If Judah wins there is every chance we can make a fight with Paul.”
