Callum Walsh Plots Mosley Jr. Blockbuster if He Gets Past Denny
Callum Walsh has already identified his ideal big-name opponent for the end of 2026—but insists Tyler Denny has his full attention first.
The Dana White-backed Cork middleweight returns to Dublin’s 3Arena this Saturday night against the former European champion, but admitted he’d welcome a clash with Shane Mosley Jr. after the American publicly called him out.
The Cork light middle revealed he has already asked his team for another fight before the end of the year and believes the son of the fight legend is the perfect next step.
“Shane Mosley Jr. called me out recently. That’s a fight I’d like by the end of the year.”
“I’d like to win this fight and maybe fight him after. I’ve already asked for one more fight before the end of the year.”
If Mosely jr doesn’t transpire, the 24-year-old will take the fight anyone put in front him approach that endeared him to Zuffa boss White.
“I’m a man that will fight anybody. If it’s one of those fights he wants to happen, let’s do it.”
However, before any talks can begin, Walsh knows he must overcome the experienced Brit at the 3Arena. The former English and European Champion with British and Commonwealth title-challenging experience could prove the Rebel County man’s toughest to date.
“I’m looking forward to the challenge. He’s been around, he’s awkward, and he’s hard to beat.”
Speaking after his last win, Mosley Jr, Jason Quigley-outpointed in 2021, said he wanted to dethrone ‘The King’.
“So, there was a guy that fought in the very first Zuffa card in the main event, his name is Callum Walsh. Where’s he at?” Mosley Jr. said after the fight.
“I just can’t wait to be king. I just can’t wait to be king. Let’s go.
I know he got a fight coming up. So once he resolves that, let’s go.
“If I need to fight in between there, let’s go. I’ll do that, but I want Callum Walsh. If we can set it up next, let’s run it. If I gotta wait a little bit, I’ll do that.”
