Jamie Conlan’s all action and dramatic Commonwealth title fight with Anthony Nelson has been officially nominated for Fight of the Year.
The British Boxing Board of Control have confirmed the clash in which Conlan stopped the English fighter is one of the nominations for the gong.
The pair meet in the Copper Box Arena on London’s Olympic Park back in April and entertained everyone in attendance and those watching on Boxnation with a back and fort barn burner.
The super flyweight thriller saw both fighters consult the canvas on two occasions with Conlan finally ending the bout with the shot of his career.
Conlan and his foe will find out on Friday, September 23 at the BBBC ceremony in London if they have won the award and could fight two weeks later in Belfast.
