Barry McGuigan predicts convincing Santa Cruz win for Frampton
It’s his toughest test to date, but Irish boxing legend Barry McGuigan assures Carl Frampton won’t just beat three weight World champion Leo Santa Cruz, but do it convincingly.
The undefeated Irish star takes on Californiaâs undefeated Leo Santa Cruz for the latterâs WBA Super World featherweight title on Saturday July 30 at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York, USA in fight that will attract the World’s glare.
The Santa Cruz fight represents the biggest fight out there for Ireland’s first ever unified World champion and has been billed as ‘legacy clash’ for a fighter who continues to stake a claim to one of Ireland’s greatest ever.
Framptonâs manager, already believe his charge is our greatest and the former WBA World featherweight king and Hall of Fame member is very confident that the 29 year old can become a two-weight world champion.
McGuigan thinks Frampton will impose his style on the high volume puncher and win in style.
âThis is going to be a cracking fight,â said McGuigan. âTheir styles complement each other so well so the real winner will be the fans. It is going to be a tough fight for both men but Iâm very confident that Carl will be able to impose his style on Santa Cruz and win this fight convincingly.â
