VOTE: The Liffey Crane Hire Irish Boxer of the Month – JUNE

Boxing usually slows down in the Summer months but the achievements continue to rack up for Irish fighters.

Another successful month, we have picked out nine boxers for the June edition of the Liffey Crane Hire Boxer of the Month.

And the nominees are…

Michaela Walsh
Belfast
The Monkstown featherweight continued her medal streak with a bronze at the European Championships in Sofia less than two months on from her Commonwealth silver.

Kelly Harrington
Dublin
The inner-city lightweight claimed bronze at the European Championships in Sofia, just missing out on silver having run rival Mira Potkonen extremely close.

Joe Ward
Westmeath
The Moate light heavy made something of a breakthrough at the Chemistry Cup in Germany, knocking down long-time rival Julio Cesar La Cruz and losing a very dubious decision. The tide is turning.

Connor Coyle
Derry
The Florida-based middleweight won his first pro title, claiming the NBA Inter-Continental belt with a headline win over Danny Pastrana

Gabriel Dossen
Galway
The teenage middleweight wowed the knowledgable crowd at the prestigious Haringey Box Cup, claiming top prize at 75kg and also being awarded the Best Male Boxer award.

Tyrone McCullagh
Derry
‘White Chocolate’ survived a third-round knockdown to win a first professional title, widely outpointing Scot Joe Ham on the Mick Conlan Homecoming card.

Jono Carroll
Dublin
‘King Kong’ stole the Mick Conlan Homecoming show, putting in a destructive performance to stop his super featherweight rival in the ninth round and put the grudge to bed.

Tyrone McKenna
Belfast
While he lost on the night, the Lenadoon light welter’s stock rose immesely following his close loss to Jack Catterall where he survived three knockdowns and came back very strong.

Mick Conlan
Belfast
Despite crazy pressure and a big step up, Conlan navigated his homecoming with ease. The Falls feather widely outpointed Brazilian world title challenger Adeilson Dos Santos on a special night in Belfast.
