Crumlin United’s Senior Sunday title hopes have been handed a serious boost after they brought back Craig Walsh from Bray Wanderers.

Having impressed in the Blue of Crumlin last term the the former Shelbourne, Bohemians and Shamrock Rovers midfielder signed for Bray Wanderers and their was genuine excitement surrounding the former troubled star returning to the top.

However, despite impressing at the Carlisle Grounds Wanderers confirmed that Walsh would be leaving the club after a short period on the same day they revealed ellow former amateur standout Daniel Kelly would be leaving for Bohemians.

The departure is directly linked to the fact the Seaguls were struggling to pay players. an issue which has now been resolved.

The LSL representative and former Inchicore Athletic standout looked set to sign for Longford Town, a side who were in for him ahead of his Bray switch, but that move hasn’t materialised.

As a result Walsh finds himself back at the top end of Intermediate football and Crumlin have re signed their Player of the Year for last year.

Walsh’s return comes not long after Crumlin brought ‘home’ their most decorated player James Lee meaning they could field an experienced and goal ladden midfield next season.

Martin Loughran’s men have been installed as joint favourites along with a strong Bluebell squad to win the Senior Sunday title next season and Walsh’s addition certainly helps their chances of deposing the reigning champs.
