Hearn reveals how talks with Cyclone re Frampton v Quigg went

There is still a few hurdles to overcome, but Eddie Hearn claims he remains hopeful a deal can be reached and Carl Frampton and Scott Quigg will finally fight in early 2016.

Hearn revealed early in the week that he would have a sit down meeting with Cyclone Promotions a company the IBF super bantamweight champion has a share in and stressed he was hopeful the pair could agree terms for the eagerly anticipated dust up.

Speaking to the Mail Online today the Matchroom boss stressed he was happy with how the meeting went and suggested ‘hurdles’ had been overcome.

“I don’t want to jinx things but we are making decent ground on the fight everyone wants to see between Scott Quigg and Carl Frampton.

“I think everyone realises the time is now and I’m hopeful a deal can be reached in the next few weeks.

“I met with the McGuigans in London on Tuesday and many of the previous problems and hurdles have been overcome, but there is still a long way to go and a lot to talk about. I really feel that we have taken a positive step.”

Cyclone Promotions have yet to comment on the possibility of a New Year clash, but silence shouldn’t be corkscrewed as negative in terms of talks, as they usually do their business behind closed doors and very rarely comment on speculation.
