Barry McGuigan on Anthony Cacace split- ‘no doubt about his promise’

Anthony Cacace and Cyclone Promotions mutually agreed to part company, Barry McGuigan has revealed.

Cyclone worked with the Belfast super featherweight since late 2015 and guided him to BBBofC Celtic title success in October of last Year.

However, the gifted operator hasn’t fought since defeating Ronnie Clark to claim a title that looked set to burst open doors.

In recent weeks there were rumours of discontent, but when Cacace revealed details of a split the fighter, who first came to prominence under the Emerald Promotions banner, was full of praise for Cyclone.

Irish fight legend McGuigan followed suit, revealing the split was a mutual consent one. The former World champion was also keen to stress Cacace has the talent to succeed in the fight game.

Speaking on Twitter the Cyclone CEO said,

“Anthony talented boxer, and after discussion between us we have both decided that it would be best to continue his career with a new stable. I wish him every success in the future and have no doubt about his promise.”
