Stephen Ormond [21(11)-2(0)] will have a massive World title eliminator in ‘early August.’
Stateside sources have revealed that the Dublin lightweight will next month get the chance to put himself in line for a shot at a World title.
Ormond had previously been denied last year in a WBO eliminator with Terry Flanagan. The Manchester boxer has since gone on to win the WBO belt and, despite promising one to the Irishman, a rematch has yet to materialise.
The 33 year old last fought in March, defeating Marcos Jiminez (who later was found to have failed a drugs test) in Boston to win the IBF Inter-Continental belt
