World champion Solimon offered Dublin hosted Macklin fight

WORLD title boxing could be returning to Dublin before the year is out after Matthew Macklin set his sights on a Championship bout with with Sam Solimon.

The three time World title challenger revealed an offer has been tabled to team Solimon to put the IBF middleweight strap on the line in Dublin this December.

‘Mack The Knife’ hopes to return to the ring in August and Dublin has been muted as a possible venue and if the 40 old Aussie, who dethroned former Macklin foe Felix Sturm accepts his next clash could be a World title warm up.

“I hope before the end of the summer and we have a few things being discussed right now, so hopefully we will know something definite in the coming days about my next fight,” Macklin told World Boxing News.

“There has also been an offer made to IBF champion Sam Solimon to fight in Ireland before Christmas so if he accepts that my next fight will lead into a world title fight.”
