As we enter into October we finally have another Irish fight date, just the third of 2016. MHD Promotions on Saturday will run a seven-fight dinner show at the famous Europa Hotel in Belfast.

First up on Friday night however there is Phil Sutcliffe Jr [10(7)-1(0)]. The Crumlin light welter makes his MGM debut in Liverpool at the Greenbank Sports Academy against a to-be-confirmed opponent.

The card on Merseyside is headlined by Kid Shamrock JJ Metcalf [13(6)-0]. The light middleweight takes on unbeaten Cameroonian middleweight Serge Ambomo.

In Florida there is a debut for 2014 Commonwealth bronze medalist Connor Coyle. The Derry man makes his pro bow at the A La Carte Pavilion in Tampa.

Then there is the big one in Belfast which is headlined by crowd-pleasing lightweight Paul Hyland Jr [12(4)-0]. Hylo takes on Nicaraguan late replacement Nelson Altamiran over eight rounds.

Chief support comes from new MHD signing Ronnie Clark [15(9)-3(1)-2] of Dundee who faces Reynaldo Cajina. Further undercard support comes from Derry featherweight Tyrone McCullagh [4(3)-0] who takes a step up to face Edwin Tellez and Coalisland lightweight Feargal McCrory [2(1)-0] who is up against Ivailo Boyanov. There are also slots for the Dublin trio of Ian Tims [11(3)-3(2)], Jay Byrne [1(1)-0], and debutant Carl McDonald. Timsey will face a to-be-confirmed opponent while Loughlinstown’s Byrne will hope to make it a happy 30th birthday again tough Englishman Liam Griffiths. Tallaght’s McDonald faces Pole Kamil Jaworek in his first paid outing.

Finally, across the Atlantic in Pennsylvania, Scranton middleweight Jimmy Kelleher [1(1)-0] of the Irish Boxing Club has his second professional contest at The Lodge.
