WATCH: Mick Conlan’s first day training with Manny Robles

Mick Conlan flew to Los Angeles this week to begin a trial period with prospective pro trainer Manny Robles, and today the 2015 World Amateur Champion took in his first training session at the Rock Gym.

One of the most sought after trainers in the sport, Robles has led Óscar Valdez an Jessie Magdaleno to World titles in the past four months.

Perhaps even more importantly though is that Jason Quigley, Conlan’s close friend and former amateur team mate, is trained by Robles.

Conlan’s move to the Rock Gym is still not one hundred percent confirmed, as the Belfast man wants to see if he will gel with Robles, the following footage shot by manager Matthew Macklin certainly suggests that it is going to be a fruitful relationship.

Should Conlan confirm the former LA Matadors coach as his trainer, he will relocate himself and his family to Los Angeles early in the new year.
