STEPHEN Ormond has been given added incentive to make war not love on Valentines night.
Frank Warren a World title fight carrot in-front of the Dubliner and confirmed that the winner of the eagerly anticipated Irish versus English clash will fight for the WBO Lightweight championship of the World.
Warren, who also promoters Ormond’s opponent Terry Flanagan, also confirmed rumours that none other than former unified champ Juan Diaz will most likely man the opposite corner in the World title fight.
“This is a final eliminator. The winner of this will get a World title shot. Terence Crawford is expected to vacate this month so the winner will fight Juan Diaz for the vacant belt,” said Ormond.
“I have already talked to Bob Arum about that fight. So this is a great opportunity for these two quality fighters. Win and you get a World title shot. Terry Flanagan is a fighter no one wants to fight and Ormond, well they don’t come tougher than that. It has all the ingredients to be a great fight and winner really has something to go for.”
