Warren says Lee and Korobov will fight for WBO World title in December

Andy Lee face Matt Korobov for the vacant WBO middleweight title in the UK this coming December, claims Frank Warren.

After Demetrius Andrade and Billy Joe Saunders were both touted as possible opponents for the Russian, who is mandatory for WBO title vacated by Peter Quillin, Limerick’s Andy Lee seems to have moved into World title pole.

Lee, who has World title previous having unsuccessfully challenged Julio Cesar Chavez Jr for the WBC strap, is reported to be keen on the dust up and Frank Warren claims its a done deal and the fight will take place in December.

Warren also claims the winner of Lee vs Korobov will fight the victor of Billy Joe Saunders vs Chris Eubank Jr.

“Bob Arum and I have agreed terms,” Warren told IFL TV,

“So it is on. We will be announcing that shortly. The winner of that fight will fight the winner of Billy Joe Saunders vs Eubank. It is a nice little situation. It (Lee v Korobov) is going to be over here, so its home advantage and it will take place sometime in early December.”

“If Andy wins and Billy wins that is a lovely Anglo Irish dust up to look forward to.”
