Ward and Joyce weigh in for APB action

Joe Ward (2-0-1) weighed-in in Sofia, Bulgaria yesterday before his AIBA Pro Boxing (APB) light-heavy clash with Bulgaria’s Spas Genov in Sofia, Bulgaria today.

Coach Eddie Bolger reports that Ward tipped the scales at 80.9kg ahead of the 81kg six-rounder on Friday.

“Joe is confident and looking forward to tomorrow night,” said Bolger.

Elsewhere, Irish head coach Billy Walsh reports that David Oliver Joyce (2-0-1) weighed-in in Astana today ahead of his fourth AIBA Pro Boxing (APB) bout in Astana, Kazakhstan on Friday.

The Irish lightweight meets Russia’s Dmitry Polyansky in the Central Asian city tomorrow.

Meanwhile, Paddy Barnes and Michael Conlan will line out for Italia Thunder versus Puerto Rico in Palermo, Italy on Saturday against opponents to be confirmed.

The Italian side have lost their first two WSB matches so far and will be looking to bounce back with home advantage.
