Oisin ‘Geal Force’ Fagan claimed the Irish light welterweight title this day nine years ago.
The teak tough Irish warrior stopped Jeff Thomas in the National Stadium to buckle the strap around his waist.
Fagan, now 41, went on to fight Paul Spadafora a year later and Amir Khan the year after that.
The Dubliner, who was unsuccessful when challenging Andy Murray for the lightweight strap in 2010, was last seen fighting in Dublin in November, where he was stopped by Kofai Yates.
