Oldham-born super middleweight Mark Heffron made an impressive return to the ring at the weekend in Spain. The Gary Hyde promoted fighter had been out of action the past 18 months – but the 23 year old showed no signs of rust with an impressive, albeit brief, outing in Benalmadena.
With just over a minute of the first round elapsed, Heffron caught his opponent, Janos Olah, with a sweet right uppercut that floored the Hungarian. It was later revealed that the knockout blow resulted in a broken jaw for the journeyman. With the win, Heffron improved his record to 10(8)-0.
