GARY Hyde’s super bantamweight WBO and WBA World champ Guillermo Rigondeaux climbed of the canvas to win a highly entertaining bout in Japan today.
The the supremely talented Cuban southpaw was dropped twice in the latter stages of the seventh, but stopped Hisashi Amagasa at the start of round 12.
The victory might have come after facing some adversity but it might prove extremely beneficial for the Cuban. The most avoided fighter on the planet was involved in an exciting fight and showed some vulnerabilities.
Some of the worlds top 122lbs fighters might now be open to trading leather with the Cork managed fighter.
