It was always going to resurface and jump up to bite Eddie Hearn in the rear.
Those infamous videos of the Matchroom boss showing a lot of love for a certain Belfast super bantamweight have been popping up all over social media in the hours after Carl Frampton and Scott Quigg officially announced that they have agreed to settle their differences in the ring on February 27.
When Hearn was working with Team Jackal and promoting shows in Belfast on which the now IBF super bantamweight champion appeared on he was quick to say Frampton would knock out a fighter he now promotes Scott Quigg.
In fairness to the Matchroom promoter he has since addressed the videos explaining that he was speaking as Frampton’s promoter – and also suggested that he Bury man has improved since the aforementioned comments.
It still remains a great source of humour for Irish fight fans to see their man backed in such emphatic fashion by the opposite team.
