After almost two and a half years and four fights, Carl Frampton [23(14)-1(0)-1] will finally box in his home city of Belfast once again on Saturday July 29th.

The Jackal takes on Mexican Andres Gutierrez [35(25)-1(0)-1] in a WBC featherweight title eliminator next month in a fight – titled ‘Return of The Jackal’ – which will take place at the SSE Odyssey Arena.

The Tigers Bay boxer is ranked #1 with the organisation, whose champion is Gary Russell Jr, while Gutierrez is ranked #10.

Frampton had hoped for this fight, which he says may be his last in Belfast, to take place in the Windsor Park football stadium, however it is instead a return to the venue which the Tigers Bay man made home between 2012 and 2015.

At the Odyssey, Frampton scored big stoppage wins over the likes of Steve Molitor, Kiko Martinez, Chris Avalos, Jeremy Parodi, and Hugo Cazares.

Undercard details and a broadcaster will be revealed in the near future.

Tickets for the fight cost £40, £75, and £115 (+ booking fee) from www.ssearenabelfast.com (call 029 9073 9074) and Ticketmaster.

VIP Tickets start from £250 are available from Cyclone Promotions – email info@cyclonepromotions.com.

Tickets go on sale tomorrow at 10:00am (Irish time)
