TV details finally confirmed for Mayweather v McGregor

The professional boxing debut of Conor McGregor will be shown on this side of the Atlantic on Sky Sports Box Office.

The Crumlin light middleweight and UFC two-weight champion takes on five-weight boxing champion Floyd Mayweather [49(26)-0] in a mega-money clash at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas on Saturday August 26th.

The bout will be aired on Showtime pay-per-view in America, however until today viewing details in the UK and Ireland were unknown with Sky, ITV, and BT all believed to be vying for the rights.

This afternoon on Sky Sports News it was confirmed that they will show the bout, with Sky Head of Boxing Adam Smith, former cruiserweight champ Johnny Nelson, and Ireland’s two-time world title challenger Matthew Macklin in studio to discuss the fight.

While, according to Matchroom boss Eddie Hearn, Mayweather had wanted £100 price per order, the price will be in line with regular Sky Box Office boxing events and cost £19.95/€24.95.
