Liam Gaynor made it three wins in three months with victory over the weekend.

The Bolton based Tallaght fighter secured his fifth pro win on the Rise of the Fighting Irish card.

The Kilnamanagh man defeated experienced Swede journey man Edward Bjorklund at Oldham Leisure Centre.

As per all his 28 defeats to date the southpaw Swede saw the final bell as Gaynor won on the cards to extend his unbeaten run.

It’s another momentum building display and result for Gaynor.

The well supported Dubliner only ended a frustrating 20 month sabbatical with a points win over Brett Fidoe at the AJ Bell Stadium in Eccles in late July and followed it up in relative quick fashion by defeating a fighter who holds a stoppage win over Belfast native Matthew Fitzsimons, Taka Bembere in September.

Bjorklund has now been added to the list as Gaynor continues to make up for lost time.

Gaynor has now teamed up with Alex Matvienko at the Elite Boxing Gym in Bolton and Steve Wood’s VIP Promotions. They may looks to get him out once more before the year ends and then look toward domestic titles in 2020.

Gaynor now pushes his record to 5-0 while his opponent, who has two more fights already lined up, slips to 1-29-1.
