Surprise short-notice fight for Chris Blaney

Navan super middleweight Chris Blaney [1(1)-0] has been handed a surprise fight date in just seven days time.

Blaney was offered the bout this morning and had little problem taking the short-notice bout next Friday (September 2nd).

The Ginger Ninja will now box at the Banks’s Stadium in Wallsall on a Hatton Promotions card which will be headlined by a heavyweight clash between Nathan Gorman and Ivica Perkovic.

The Meath man, who is aiming to move down to middleweight, also has a fight provisionally pencilled in for Staurday October 1st at the Fenton Manor Sports Complex in Stoke.

It’s an encouraging level activity for the Ricky Hatton-trained fighter having made his debut in Dublin at the end of June.
