Step-up opponent announced for Katie Taylor on Anthony Joshua undercard
An opponent has been confirmed for Katie Taylor‘s second pro fight.
The Bray super featherweight fights on the Anthony Joshua v Eric Molina pay-per-view undercard at the Manchester Arena on Saturday December 10th and will take on Viviane Obenauf [9(4)-1(0)].
The Swiss-based Brazilian lightweight defeated Taylor’s debut opponent, Poland’s Karina Kopinska, over six rounds last month (scoredcards – 59:55 x2, 60:54) and definitely provides the Wicklow woman with a step up.
Obenauf’s only defeat came last year to Italy’s European featherweight champion Vissia Trovato over six rounds. The South American is ranked #18, at lightweight, with the WBC.
Taylor [1(1)-0] debuted on Saturday, demolishing Kopinska inside three rounds at the Wembley Arena in London.
Taylor’s fight will feature as a swing bout during the pay-per-view portion of the card in two weeks time which also includes a WBA super flyweight title fight betwen Luis Conception and Kal Yafai, British heavyweight, light heavyweight, and super middleweight title defences for Dilliain Whyte, Hosea Burton, and Callum Smith, against Dereck Chisora, Frank Buglioni, and Luke Blackledge respectively, as well as a comeback bout for Scott Quigg following his defeat to Carl Frampton.
