Sky’s the limit for McCarthy- Belfast big man could bring back Sky cameras

TOMMY McCarthy will bring the Sky Sports camera’s back to Belfast predicts Pat Magee his manager.

Big Punching cruiserweight McCarthy will top his first bill at the ‘This is It’ Feile Fight night in Belfast on August 1st and Magee believes that that TV  stardom awaits the former Senior champion in the near future.

“There will be a lot of casual fans around Belfast for the Festival and as a result it will sell more tickets than you would normally sell for the show. If we get them on board we can do the Ulster Hall and we can get sponsors and that will keep us going until we get a Sky over here again” Magee told Irish-boxing.com.

The manager who led Brian Magee to his world title triumph sees no reason why McCarthy can’t follow in those footsteps and emulate the feats of other famous fighters from the North in gaining big time TV exposure.

“If Tommy McCarthy is eliminator status or is fighting for a title Sky will come I have absolutely no doubt. Once they are convinced we can sell tickets in a big arena they will come over here. Once that happens Tommy will just follow the path Paul McCloskey, Carl Frampton and Brian Magee did.”
