SKY fall – Belujsky misses out on Matchroom opportunity
Vladimir Belujsky [9(7)-3(1)-1] had a the chance to fight live on Sky Sports next week taken away today.
‘The Slovak Rebel’ had agreed to step in and face a rising Matchroom star live on Sky Sports.
Undefeated super middleweight John Docherty [9(7)-0] was looking for an opponent for the Katie Taylor Miriam Gutierrez November 14 card, Belujsky was ready to step in at late notice, agreed to the fight and had travel arrangements sorted.
However, a cut suffered by Jaime Cox, who was set to fight Jack Cullen on the same card, opened a door for a bigger fight for the Scott.
The 23-year-old southpaw will now take on last man standing contestant Cullen, who looked set to fight Jason Quigley on the last Taylor undercard.
It leaves Cork based Belujsky without a fight, but his team are hopeful another similar fight will come his way soon

‘Big Bad Vlad’ has step up previous having fought David Brophy in Scotland and Petro Ivanov in Germany.
He suffered defeat on both occasions, but always fancied the Docherty fight and would have gone into the fight on the back of an upset win in Poland.
The Mitchelstown native previously told Irish-boxing.com that he was happy to travel and take chances because no Irish super middle were keen to fight him.
