Massive American boxing broadcaster Showtime today released their Spring/Summer boxing schedule and on it is a slot for a mouthwatering Carl Frampton versus Leo Santa Cruz fight.
The Network claim both teams have verbally agreed to fight over the last 24 hours meaning Frampton will finally get his man and get’s the chance to put a massive global name on his slate.
Santa Cruz was the name on most lips post the IBF and WBA super bantamweight champions victory over Scott Quigg late last month, but most believed a mandatory defence against Shingo Wake would play out in Belfast before the clash could be made.
However, The LA Times today revealed that Showtime are confident a clash with the Mexican/American has been made.
The fight is said to play out in either California or Las Vegas in late Summer and according to Showtime Frampton will move up to featherweight to challenge for Santa Cruz’s WBC World title.
