Sean McGlinchey added to big Belfast TV show

Derry middleweight Sean McGlinchey [1(0)-0] will be part of a big TV card in just his second fight.

It has been confirmed today that 2014 Commonwealth Games bronze medalist McGlinchey will feature on the big BoxNation ‘Battle of Belfast’ card next month at the Waterfront Hall.

The June 17th fight date comes two weeks after McGlinchey’s wholly exciting debut win over Josef Obeslo at The Devenish Venue in Belfast.

That night the Kieran Farrell-managed fighter brought a massive crowd to West Belfast for what was the chief support bout and something similar is expected in six weeks time, while a spot on the televised portion of the bill is also hoped for.

‘Mummy’s Bhoy’ will now return to training at the Wild Atlantic Gym in Culdaff, Donegal, under former IBF cruiserweight champ Glenn McCrory ahead of another four-rounder.

24 year old McGlinchey joins Lewis Crocker, Jamie Conlan, Davey Oliver Joyce on the June 17th undercard alongside an IBF East/West European title fight between Jono Carroll and Johnny Quigley, and WBO European title fights for Paddy Barnes and Steve Ormond against Silveau Oltneau and Craig Evans respectively.

Tickets for the night cost £30, £40, £60, and £150, and are available from the boxers involved or from HERE.
