Ryan Burnett nominated for BBBoC award

Rising Belfast bantamweight Ryan Burnett [14(9)-0] has been nominated for the Young Boxer of the Year Award by the British Boxing Board of Control.

During the time-period considered the 24 year old has won four fights, knocking out Robert Kanales to win the WBO European title, outpointing Jason Booth to win the British title, outpointing Anthony Settoul on the Frampton-Quigg undercard to win the WBC International title, and defending the green belt against Cesar Ramirez during the Summer.

The Matchroom-promoted, Adam Booth-trained, starlet defends his British title against Ryan Farrag next month in Liverpool and is thought to be close to a 118lbs World title shot.

The winner will be announced at the BBBoC awards dinner on Friday 23rd September.
