Return to the ring announced for Anto Cacace

Anto Cacace [15(7)-1(0)] will return to the ring next month as he looks to rebuild following his British and Commonwealth title loss.

It has been confirmed today that the Belfast super featherweight will feature on the ‘Celtic Clash 3: Building Champions’ card promoted by Boxing Ireland and Tony Davitt at the National Stadium on Saturday September 9th

The show is headlined by a BUI Celtic featherweight title fight between Eric Donovan and Welsh champion Dai Davies, and ‘The Apache’ represents a high-quality addition to the undercard.

Less than two months will have passed since Cacace’s narrow defeat in his double title clash with Martin J Ward back in July. Here at the Wembley Arena in London, On the ITV Box Office card the Andersonstown man ‘ lost a close unanimous decision in fight many contended he won.

Next month the Ray Ginley-trained, Pat Magee-managed fighter will return in a six-round contest against a to-be-confirmed opponent.

The timing of the fight date also would seem to leave BBBoC Celtic champion Cacace available to fight on the big Sky Sports card at the SSE Odyssey Arena on October 21st – with a mooted match-up against Belfast’s James Tennyson being of great appeal.

Headlined by the Donovan-Davies title fight, the ‘Celtic Clash 3: Building Champions’ card also features Regan Buckley v Carl McDonald, Stephen McAfee, Martin Quinn, Aiden Metcalfe, Keane McMahon, Dylan McDonagh, Colin O’Donovan, Chris Mullally, Michael Gallagher, Niall O’Connor, Gerard Whitehouse, Bernard Roe, Aiden Metcalfe, and John Joyce.

Tickets for the show cost €30 (Balcony), €40 (Gallery), €60 (Ringside), €100 (VIP Premium), and €15 (Under-15s gallery – must be bought alongside an adult ticket) and are available to buy from Ticketmaster.ie
