Out of the blue Spanish action confirmed for three Irish boxers

Three Irish fighters confirmed out of the blue ring action over the weekend.

Ryan O’Rourke [6(1)-0], Paddy Nevin [3-0] and Francy Luzoho [1(1)-1(0)] will all trade leather on a show in Spain this coming weekend.

The trio will take on yet to be confirmed oppossition in Alcala La Real on April 24.

Dubliner O’Rourke fights for the second time this year and the seventh time since he turned over 14 months ago.

The well traveled 21-year-old steps up to eight rounds for the first time and will most likely be looking for a step up in opposition.

O’Rourke’s O’Rourke Gym stablemate Paddy Nevin will also populate the card. The Dublin heavyweight fights for the first time in over a year against yet-to-be confirmed opponent. Nevin ended a 15-month sabbatical in March of last year with a points win over Phil Williams but hasn’t been seen since.

Luzoho also ends a period of activity in Spain on Saturday. The Spain based Dublin fighter last fought in March of 2019, coming out second best to Martin Quinn in a high profile and controversial TG4-broadcast clash.

‘The Butcher Boy’ will now fight for the first time under coach Jonathan O’Brien and since Ryan Rhodes took over his managerial reigns.
