Balbriggan welter Gerard Whitehouse [4(1)-0] will face Spanish opposition next weekend in Dublin.

The Fingal youngster fights in his first six-rounder on the Red Corner Promotions ‘Inception’ show and will take on Sergio Abad [2(1)-5(1)] at the National Stadium.

It will be almost one year to the day since his last contest when the European Schoolboy bronze medalist steps through the ropes on the South Circular Road, following an injury and inactivity-filled twelve months.

The 34 year old from Mijas in Southern Spain presents a rugged test to Whitehouse, who is also scheduled to box on the Prospect/Wilton show in Belfast on November 26th.

Whitehouse is joined on the undercard by Connor Coyle, Lynn Harvey, Eric Donovan, Niall Kennedy, and Bernard Roe. Topping the bill will be Dubliner Luke Keeler who takes on Welshman Bradley Pryce for the BUI Celtic Warrior title.
