‘No balls?’ – Anthony Cacace wants Summer showdown with world-ranked rival

Anthony Cacace [18(7)-1(0)] believes the time is now and wants to fight Archie Sharp [19(9)-0] next.

The Frank Warren duo were on a collossion course ever since the Belfast fighter signed for Queensbury.

However, it was a fight the BT Sport’s aligned promoter wanted to build toward. The pandemic and an unfortunate sequence of events not seen since Lemony Snickets, with regard to Cacace versus Leon Woodstock, has prevented the bout from moving to the forefront of Warren or fight fans’ minds.

British champion, Cacace wants that to change. The talented Harry Hawkins trained fighter wants to get busy in a bid to move toward a world title shot.

He see’s Sharp as a vehical to progress his career further and has called for the fight to be made this summer.

The 32-year-old told ‘Sharpshooter’ he would put his British title online if he agreed to trade leather and believes both fighter’s rankings could allow for it to be a world title eliminator.

The usually call out adverse fighter, who is back in training, took to Twitter to stir the pot.

‘The Apacace’ hasn’t fought since defeating Sam Bowen to take the British super featherweight title in 2019. He has since saw three dates and three fights with Leon Woodstock fall through.

Sharp, who stopped Dublin’s ‘Pretty Boy’ Geraghty in 2019 was out in 2020 out pointing Jeff Ofori in August of last year.
