New Kildare boxer turns pro

Another fighter has joined the pro party in Ireland as the paid ranks continue to swell on the island.

Kildare featherweight Eoin McGrath has entered the fray, linking up with manager and trainer Stephen Kavanagh at Kilnamanagh BC in Tallaght.

The 22 year old was a top underage amateur with Ryston before some time away from the sport and now returns into the pros.

Kavanagh described him as “a very exciting and talented boxer, I’m looking forward to working some more with him. He will be making his pro debut in early 2018.”

McGrath joins a growing group of Kildare boxers in the pros alongside Allan Phelan and Chris Mullally from the Newbridge area, Gary Cully from Naas, Eric Donovan from Athy, and Dennis Hogan from Kilcullen.

Meanwhile, Kavanagh’s SK Promotions will run their inaugural show next Friday [November 24th] at the CityWest Hotel in Saggart.

Headlined by Sean Creagh, it will also feature Victor Rabei, Chris Mullally, Liam Gaynor, Craig McCarthy, and debutant Cillian Reardon.

Kildare boxing is proudly supported by Liffey Crane Hire.
