New Dublin show CONFIRMED

What will most likely be the final Irish card of 2017 has been confirmed.

Irish-Boxing.com can announce that Boxing Ireland Promotions and Tony Davitt Promotions will run ‘Celtic Clash 4‘ at the National Stadium on Saturday December 2nd.

It will be the outfit’s third show of the year following ‘Celtic Clash 2: The Rising’ in May and ‘Celtic Clash 3: Building Champions’ in September.

Kildare featherweight Eric Donovan [5(3)-0] headlined both of these shows, most recently winning the BUI Celtic title against Dai Davies, and ‘Lilywhite Lightning’ will top the bill again here.

Donovan will defend his belt against Spanish southpaw Juan Luis Gonzalez [9(3)-6(3)]. The Asturian will be a familiar foe for Irish fans having gone the eight-round distance with Jono Carroll last year.

A former Spanish title challenger, Gonzalez has lost his past two fights to top prospects Sam Bowen and Carlos Ramos, offering 32 year old Donovan a good chance to compare.

The pair share one common opponent in the pros. Back in February Donovan stopped Romanian Stefan Nicolae in the second round, while Gonzalez stopped the same foe in the third round last year.

The Athy southpaw had been due to box Gonzalez back in May, but the 38 year old was forced to pull out due to his loss to Ramos.

Balbriggan welterweight Crank Whitehouse [7(2)-0] will also feature and it is hoped the 22 year old will finally get the all-Irish fight that he craves.

Ticket and further undercard details will be announced soon.
