Michael O’Reilly moves closer to Olympic qualification

Michael O’Reilly has cruised through his opening bout at the final AOB Olympic qualifier in Azerbaijan.

The middleweight #1 seed comfortably defeated Vitalia Dandarenka of Belarus in Baku this afternoon via unanimous decision (30-27 x2).

The European Games champion is now two wins away from a spot at the Rio Olympics and will face Mongolian star Shinebayar Narmandakh in the Last 16 tomorrow evening.

The Asian fighter defeated Spaniard Damian Biacho Bolequia today.
