Michael Buffer to introduce Frampton-Quigg

“And now, for the thousands in attendance, and the millions watching around the World…”

The most famous five words in boxing will get another outing on February 27th when Carl Frampton and Scott Quigg finally clash at the Manchester Arena.

Legendary MC Michael Buffer, of “Let’s get Ready to Rumble!” fame, will be the man tasked with introducing the two boxers in less than five weeks time.

As the fight is being broadcast in the U.S by Showtime, it had been rumoured that Showtime MC Jimmy Lennon Jr would be the man with the mic. However, Matchroom boss Eddie Hearn has confirmed via social media that Michael Buffer will be the man in the middle with the job of adding that extra bit of atmosphere to one of the most hotly anticipated fights in years.

Buffer, of course, has Frampton previous, having been the man to introduce the Belfast fighter against Chris Avalos in February last year at the Odyssey Arena. The 71 year old was also the ring announcer for Quigg’s two-round destruction of former World champion Kiko Martinez last July.

The fight for the IBF and WBA super bantamweight titles will be shown live on Sky Sports PPV as a co-promotion from Matchroom Boxing and Cyclone Promotions, and the iconic figure of Buffer is a welcome addition to one of the biggest boxing showdowns of recent times.
