McGuigan labels Joe Gallagher a “nonsense eejit”

While he kept relatively quiet yesterday in London, Barry McGuigan delivered a verbal salvo to Scott Quigg’s trainer, Joe Gallagher, today in Manchester.

Speaking at the Manchester Arena on the second stop of the three-city press tour for the Frampton-Quigg February 27th showdown at the same venue, the former featherweight World champion labelled Gallagher a “nonsense eejit.”

The verbals came after Gallagher brought up McGuigan’s final career loss against Jim McDonnell in Manchester in 1989, and suggested the Team Frampton have some mental issues to overcome before fighting on what he called an “unhappy hunting ground.”.

The Cyclone Promotions head honcho immediately responded, arguing that “you’ve got the mental issues here Joe, don’t try and brainwash us here with nonsense.”

“You haven’t a clue what you are talking about.”

“You are a nonsense eejit if you think we are going to get beaten, you are a fool.”

It’s certainly heating up for what promises to be a lively final stop tomorrow at the Europa Hotel in Belfast.
