Mark Heffron signs big promotional deal

Highly-rated super middleweight Mark Heffron [13(11)-0] has linked up with Frank Warren’s Queensberry Promotions ahead of what looks to be a big year for ‘Kid Dynamite.’

The Oldham-Kildare fighter has long been thought of as one of the most talented prospects in boxing has endured a stop-start career, but has now been given a real opportunity for progression under promoter Warren and on the BT Sport platform.

The big puncher returned after over a year out in November with two knockout wins.

25 year old Heffron, who is trained alongside Michael Devine under Dubliner Kevin Maree, will make his Queensberry debut on Saturday April 8th at the Manchester Arena.

Heffron features on a massive bill that is headlined by Terry Flangan’s defence of his WBO lightweight title. Also on the card is a light middleweight match-up between Liam Smith and Liam Williams, and the pro debut of double Olympic gold medalist Nicola Adams. ‘Kid Shamrock’ JJ Metcalf is another on the card, and he faces a step-up against Mark Thompson. A second light middle of Irish descent, Jimmy Kelly, is in against Rick Godding.
