Irish boxer to appear on First Dates Ireland next week

Irish female fight warrior Lynn Harvey [2(2)-1(0)] will be all about love not war just over a week shy of her next fight.

The teak tough pro took some time from trading blows with men in the sparring ring to trading some flirty banter with one fortunate man on RTÉ2’s extremely popular show First Dates Ireland.

Harvey elected to take part in the series, which has captured massive public attention since it was launched last year, over the summer and her date will be aired as part of the Thursday February 16th show at 9:30pm on RTÉ2.

No doubt the humble, yet confident and determined fighter will be somewhat nervously apprehensive about the reaction to the show, but it has made stars of people already and could really benefit a fighter who trains full times and relies on sponsorship to fund her early career attempts.

It’s not quite David Haye in the Jungle, but a First Dates appearance will pique the interest of the non-fighting fraternity and has the potential to win ‘The Hunter’ some new fans and provide a crossover platform.

At the very least it will generate more interest in her next fight at the National Stadium which takes place nine days (Saturday February 25th) after the broadcast.

Harvey is not the first Irish fighter to appear on a TV dating show either, with another Dubliner, Deco Geraghty, taking part in Take Me Out back in 2013.
