Kelly continues comeback with easy win
Jimmy Kelly continued down the comeback trail in Preston tonight.
The Wythenshawe-born light middleweight scored a comprehensive points over the ultra-durable Deividas Sajauka in a six rounder on the MGM Manchester show at the Guild Hall.
23 year old Kelly has been rebuilding following his seventh round stoppage loss to champion Liam Smith for the WBO title last December.
Against a negative and defensive Baltic foe, Kelly was afforded the opportunity to tee-off at will. However, as he always does, Sajuaka withstood the assault and saw the final bell.
The win sees Kelly move to 18(7)-1(1), while Sajauka falls to 5(2)-24(0)
The challenged posed tonight by his Lithuanian opponent was minimal, but allowed ‘Kilrain’ Kelly to build up some confidence ahead of his assault on the domestic scene.
