Katelynn Phelan signs new professional deal


Ireland’s youngest female pro has undergone a change of team.

Irish-Boxing.com can confirm that Kildare light welter Katelynn Phelan has signed with Boxing Ireland Promotions.

Phelan [1(0)-0] turned 19 last month and now departs Assassin Boxing to link up with the team behind the popular Celtic Clash series.

The European Junior and World Youth bronze medallist made her professional debut in March on the ‘Clash of the Titans’ bill, live on TG4.

The lilywhite outpointed durable Pole Monika Antonik over four rounds at the National Stadium.

Phelan, the younger sister of super featherweight pro Allan, becomes the second Kildare fighter on the Boxing Ireland books after crown jewel Eric Donovan.
