Ireland’s talented young prospects fly out to Romania on Monday morning ahead of the opening bell for the 2017 European Schoolboy Championships.

Boxing begins next Tuesday in Valcea.

Ireland will use a 19-strong squad in Romania.

Ireland have claimed 78 medals at this level since the tournament’s inaugural edition in 2003. In that time, Olympians, World Champions, and numerous pros have claimed silverware at the first major international tournament for Irish boxers.

Last year’s tournament saw Ireland claim 6 medals in Zagreb, Croatia.
