Irish Paddy Murphy to make ring return

Newry welterweight Paddy Murphy [11(5)-1(0)-2] will return to the ring in March.

The Australian-based Irishman has not fought since his November 2014 majority-decision loss to Rivan Cesaire for the Australian title..

Murphy will jump straight back in to ring with a ten-round fight against Jack ‘The Ripper’ Brubaker [9(4)-1(0)] on March 12th at Sydney Olympic Park.

24 year old Brubacker is the current holder of the OPBF and WBC Youth welterweight belts and unsuccessfully challenged for the Australian lightweight belt in 2013.

The Queensland card also features Dublin lightweight and Australian champion Darragh ‘Super’ Foley who takes on Brandon Ogilvie for the WBA Oceania tiltle.

Murphy, fighting out of Brisbane, also has a draw on his record with current Irish welterweight champ Peter McDonagh.
