Ireland finish 4th on World Championships medals table
It was a history-making week and a half for Team Ireland at the 18th edition of the World Boxing Championships in Doha, Qatar.
Belfast bantamweight, and team captain, Mick Conlan won Ireland’s first ever gold at the tournament and was joined on the podium by middleweight Michael O’Reilly and light heavyweight Joe Ward to ensure Ireland’s highest ever medal tally at boxing’s toughest tournament.
This pugilistic excellence has been reflected in the final medal and rankings tables where Ireland finished 4th and 5th respectively.
