Ireland beat strong England select in the National Stadium

England beat Ireland 6-3 at the National Stadium in Dublin tonight following nine keenly contested contests at the home of Irish boxing.

Amy Broadhurst, Emma Flannery and Shannon Reilly had their hands raised in victory for Ireland. All of the Irish squad gave good accounts of themselves, with Aoife Burke only losing out on a split to European gold medallist Chantele Reid in the last contest of the night.

Both nations will meet again tomorrow evening at the Clann Naofa BC in Dundalk.
