Heather Hardy wants Katie Taylor garden party – ‘The Heat’ ready to step in for Serrano

Former WBO world champion and Bellator MMA fighter Heather Hardy [22(4)-2(1)] is the latest fighter to make her August 22 availability known to Eddie Hearn.

As doubts have raised with regard to Amanda Serrano travelling to England to fight Katie Taylor [15(6)-0] in Matchroom Headquarters, so have the hands of a number of high profile fighters hoping to be picked to step in.

Delfine Persoon is open to a rematch on the final Fight Camp installment, Chantelle Cameron has also called for the fight and now New Yorker Hardy wants on the pay per view show

Considering talks have taken place with Persoon’s people, a rematch of last years highly entertaining undisputed fight looks the most likely if as now expected Serrano looks delay the ‘biggest female fight of all time’ further.

However, Taylor and Matchroom now have options and Hardy argues she has earned the shot.

The teak tough ticket seller took to Twitter to suggest as much this evening.

‘The Heat’ fought close friend Amanda Serrano for the right to face Taylor back in September of last year.

The seven weight world champion came out on top in a fight that captured the attention of New York and Brooklyn in particular.

However, Hardy now argues, that if Serrano doesn’t want to trade leather with the Olympic gold medal winner and undisputed lightweight world champion, she should be considered.

The 38-year-old has been mentioned as a potential foe before. Her popularity and profile in New York and among the Irish-American community make her an appealing foe for Taylor.

Tentative talks have taken place in the past and Hardy has previously claimed she was sounded out as a potential foe before the Eva Wahlstorm clash.
